With consistently high temperatures averaging around 29°C / 84°F to 30°C / 86°F, the climate of Lombok is greatly influenced by its closeness to the world's equator, which lies approximately 200 miles / 322 km to the north. However, as well as feeling hot, the island is often quite humid, with daylight hours constantly exceeding 12 hours, with the sun usually setting at around 18:30 each day.
Seasonal Variations / When to Go
The dry season on Lombok tends to fall between May and October, and it is at this time of the year that holidaymakers arrives in their droves, heading to the beaches to soak up the strong Indonesian sun.
Towards the end of October, the monsoon climate arrives, although it is important to say that downpours rarely last for more than an hour and are often followed by sunny weather. The word 'monsoon' can be a little misleading and actually refers more to the ocean winds, rather than the rain itself.
